Newcastle disease kills 177 birds in Jallo Park

The Newcastle disease has taken the lives of 177 birds during the last three days in the Jallo Park. Wildlife sources told APP that since last Sunday, 177 peafowls, guinea fowls and peasants had lost their lives owing to the disease in the park. They said vaccine and supplements were being given to other birds to save them from the disease. Veterinary Research Institute, Lahore, has also been contacted to find out ways to save the birds from the disease. Meanwhile, the Lahore zoo administration said no mortality had been reported by the disease. However, precautionary measures had been taken to ward off the disease, it added.
