ECP announces 12 elected senators from Balochistan

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the results of 12 senators elected from Balochistan province. The ECP on Tuesday declared twelve senators successful on: seven general seats; two seats reserved for technocrats, including religious scholars; two seats reserved for women; and one seat reserved for minorities.
These senators include Nawabzada Saifullah Magsi, Hafiz Hamdullah Saboor, Mir Israrullah Khan Zehri, Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani, Saeedul Hassan Mandokhalil, Advocate Muhammad Daud Khan Achakzai, Muhammad Yousaf, Mufti Abdul Sattar, Rozi Khan Kakar, Naseema Ehsan, Robina Irfan and Heman Dass. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) field an appeal with the ECP against the election results of seven general seats in the Senate from Balochistan. PML-N’s Rafiq Rajwana filed the appeal with the ECP, seeking recount of votes. The ECP accepted the application but did not fix the date.
