The judges of Lahore Civil Court refused to take up hearings on Tuesday as a protest against hooliganism by lawyers, who threw out a civil judge out and locked his courtroom earlier. According to details, Civil Judge Saifullah was hearing a case against Lahore Development Authority (LDA) during which and lawyers asked him to adjourn the hearing and give more time. However the judge refused to comply which irked the lawyers. The lawyers left the courtroom and returned a while later along with more colleagues and demanded the judge to leave the court. The lawyers also reportedly misbehaved with the judge and forced him out of the room. The lawyers then brought a padlock, put it on the courtroom and raised slogans against him. Saifullah informed other judges at the Aiwan-e-Adl about the incident, after which civil judges of all district courts went on strike.
