The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC-II) issued notices on Tuesday for April 3 in an application moved by Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi Chairman Afaq Ahmed for his acquittal in a kidnapping for ransom case. In the application moved under section 265-K, Ahmed stated that the prosecution has no evidence of his involvement in the case pertaining to kidnapping of Jameel Ahmed for ransom. He prayed the court to order his acquittal from the case, registered in 2001 at the Korangi police station. The court, headed by the judge Khalda Yaseen, after preliminary hearing ordered issuance of notices to the public prosecutor for arguments in the acquittal plea.
