Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa has said that Pakistan People’s Party has always had a firm belief on ethical and principled politics and has given politics the stature of religious duty. Shunning the politics of “Lotacracy” and condemning the practice of horse-trading, he said that those who betrayed the party will soon be unveiled. In this context, he also stated that the President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the party’s high command to initiate an inquiry against them. These views were expressed by him during a session with the media at the convocation ceremony of a local college in Lahore.
Commenting on a ‘baseless allegation’ levelled at him by a central leader of PPP, he said that his staunch affiliation and commitment with his party was indelible and time tested while his conscience was at ease relating the matter. He stated the country’s judiciary was independent, liberated and immensely revered by the PPP. He further added that the party hopes the Chief Justice of Pakistan would take immediate notice of horse trading that recently occurred in the senate elections.
