Two people, including a 28-year-old woman, committed suicide in two different areas of the city on Monday. A woman committed suicide after swallowing poisonous pills in the Nishter Colony Police Area. The deceased was identified as Riffat Mehmood, a resident of Nishter Colony Area. The police said Riffat got involved in a clash with her husband over domestic issue over which she got disheartened and she swallowed poisonous pills.
She was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. Similarly a 24-year-old young man committed suicide after swallowing poisonous pills in Nawakot Area. The police said the deceased, Waqar Ahmed, was in love with a wife of his neighbour but she refused to establish any relation over which he got disheartened and he swallowed poisonous pills. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.
