Hundreds of unregistered vehicles impounded


The city traffic police (CTP) impounded over 890 vehicles under its campaign launched against unregistered vehicles and those lacking proper number plates. City Traffic Officer (CTO) Ghulam Abbas Tarar said the CTP have issued 8400 challan slips and fined the violators during first five days of the special campaign. He said the campaign was launched on March 1 under which action was being taken against unregistered vehicles and motorcycles and those moving on the city roads without proper number plates. He said earlier a grace period was also given to motorists specially those who did not have registration or proper number plates. Now they were being fined and their vehicles were also being impounded.
