Eight power units of Tarbela dam were closed on Tuesday owing to decrease in water level in the dam.
It should be mentioned here that water level in Tarbela Dam was falling each day and currently it was just five feet above from its dead-level.
According to the management, the dead-level in the dam is 1,381 feet water level which was at 1,383 feet on Monday.
On average, the water level has been decreasing by 3 feet per day owing to daily water discharge, which is producing 420MW electricity per day.
At least eight power units of the dam have been closed due to low level of water, while only six units are working. About 520MW electricity is being produced by the dam.
It was feared that further decrease in water level would affect the power generation resulting in worsening of the power crisis.
