Aman Tehreek warns KP government against allowing DPC rally in Peshawar

Expressing concern over the assembling of leaders and stalwarts of recently-established Defence Pakistan Council, activists of Aman Tehreek have made it clear that they would not tolerate its public meeting in Peshawar on March 17. β€œIt is the high time that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government disallow the so-called Defence Pakistan Council to hold its public meeting in Peshawar,” remarked Aman Tehreek Convener Idrees Kamal while addressing a protest gathering on GT Road Peshawar on Tuesday. The protest was arranged in a bid to convey sentiments of the local people to the stalwarts of the DPC, who were present in a hotel in connection with a meeting. In its meeting, the DPC discussed arrangements for holding a public rally in Peshawar on March 17. Earlier, the council held its public rallies in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi. However, they were prevented from holding a similar rally in Quetta on law and order grounds.
