Leading Scottish lawyer and QC Paul McBride, 46, was found dead under mysterious circumstances from a five star hotel located on Mall Road in the Race Course Police Area on Sunday afternoon. A senior police official Lahore Police’s Investigation Wing on condition of anonymity said the deceased was in the city with his two Pakistani-born Scottish friends, Amir and Naveed, to attend a marriage ceremony of Passport DG Wajid Bukhari’s son. On Saturday night Mcbride after attending the ceremony went to sleep in his room number 793 located on seventh floor of the hotel. Senior Police official said both Amir and Naveed knocked at the door of deceased’s room but he did not respond, so they informed the management who found him dead.
After the autopsy it was revealed that Mcbride’s death was due to natural reasons. Sources said the deceased was a homosexual who had contracted marriage with a male. Sources further said the deceased was a renowned lawyer in Scotland and was a counsel for the accused involved in Glasgow Bombing Case.
