The HEC has granted permission to The Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), a UK-based professional examining body, to open HEC-approved centers in Pakistan. ICM Regional Director for Pakistan Moazam Shahbaz, said the HEC has recognised ICM1s Level 6 Graduate Diploma level qualifications as being equivalent to Pakistan’s four-year Bachelors Degree. He added that students could now study for a UK Bachelors (Hons) level qualification at affordable cost while remaining in Pakistan. Shahbaz, while answering a query, said: “The ICM will collaborate with universities, degree-awarding institutes and institutions registered with the respective provincial education departments in order to expand its network of approved centers in Pakistan.”
ICM Media Adviser Tasawar Malik said ICM was operating in over 80 countries worldwide supported by more than 600 approved centers. Annually, more than 100,000 graduates take ICM examinations. Approximately, 6,000 Pakistani students are acquiring ICM qualifications from different centers in Europe alone. He added that the ICM planned to make its globally recognised qualifications accessible to a wider audience by increasing its approved teaching centers in smaller
towns and cities.
