60pc uplift work at OPF housing project completed

Overseas Pakistan Foundation (OPF) has so far completed around 60 percent of development work at Zone-V project, launched to accommodate Pakistani expatriates. Development work is in progress as the foundation would soon issue pre-qualification tenders to get connections for water supply and electricity for the said scheme. An official at OPF said that although the housing scheme was supposed to complete by 2011, but due to reasons the project got delayed and could not be completed during stipulated time frame.
The official said the contract of Zone-V housing scheme, Islamabad, was awarded to Frontier Work Organization (FWO) which is working these days to complete the project.
It is mentioned here that to cater for housing needs. of Overseas Pakistanis and to provide them residential facilities, OPF started a number of housing schemes in different cities of the country. Plots were allotted to Overseas Pakistanis in these schemes which were launched in Islamabad, Lahore, Gujrat, Peshawar, Dadu, Larkana, Turbat and Mirpur (AJK), the official said. Seven such schemes in Lahore, Gujrat, Peshawar, Dadu, Larkana, Mirpur, Turbat have been completed.
