Waheeda Shah’s slap

Widows and children of deceased parliamentarians standing for election should be given advance training before campaigns. They usually have this notion that the seat is hereditary and they are the chosen few. If Ms Shah was from the opposition, Madam Firdaus and Madam Sharmila would have blasted her on all channels and would have made life miserable for her. Since she is from the ruling party, she is a saint who can’t do anything wrong and that the officials at that polling booth were at fault and definitely very anti-democracy. The ‘democracy is the best revenge’ mantra is still the guiding force. Pakistani democracy is the epitome of excellence.
