Dog biting incidents are on rise in the area of Shaheen Town Gangal which has caused harassment among residents of the area. “This area is flooded with stray dogs and particularly the lonely market of this vicinity is complete shelter for these dogs. No one can even move freely in the market. We can not visit the bazaar even in broad day light as we don’t want to become victim to the hounding stray dogs. The entire market has been turned into stray dogs’ regime and we are left at the mercy of these dogs, said Sehba, a schoolteacher. “We have to pass through the market to go to school but we can not do so because the stray dogs block our way. Daily one of our class fellows becomes victim to dog bite and he has to be taken to hospital for vaccinations.
How long this situation will prevail, questioned a student of class 9th. Are we not children of this nation that we are rendered vulnerable to the dog biting, said Waseem a student of class 5th while weeping bitterly. “Should we shift out of this area by selling out our ancestral properties, exploded residents of the area. Residents have demanded of the concerned authorities to launch operation to cleanse the area from stray dogs.
