Former senator demands FATA province

Former senator Haji Muhammad Shah on Saturday demanded sufficient representation of the Tribal Areas in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly or to declare FATA as a separate province.
Holding a press conference, he said that senators from FATA should be elected from that province to remove the grievances of the people. Shah said that his nephew Shah Faysal Afridi lost the Senate elections because they did not give money to MPAs to vote for him. The former senator said that he did not talk to President Asif Ali Zardari regarding awarding a Senate ticket to his nephew and despite offers of many parties, they decided to contest the election independently. “If we were not given representation in the KP Assembly or separate province, we would have our candidates for general elections from province,” he said.
