Mansoor Ijaz, star witness in memogate case, said on Friday that President Asif Ali Zardari had asked Army Chief General Asfhaq Pervez Kayani on May 2 night to not send F-16 aircraft to bring down US choppers carrying Navy SEALS commandos who killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad.
He was talking to media before appearing before the memo commission via video link from London. He claimed that a telephonic conversation between Zardari and Kayani took place on May 2 night. He said that Zardari had asked army chief to not stop US helicopters.
Ijaz said Zardari had given permission to US for killing bin Laden in Pakistan. He added that a media campaign was run against him on the behest of the president. He said he would sue those who had been writing against him.
Defence lawyers have been cross-examining Mansoor Ijaz since Thursday after he had recorded his statement to the judicial commission headed by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

OBVIOUS since the night it happened. There is no way US helicopters flew into Pakistani airspace without being detected by PAF.
Pakistani Govt and Military are traitors for allowing foreign troops to operate in Pakistan.
Zardari gets CASH and Kayani gets F-16s, which are useless since PAF can not change IFF system on F-16.
As far F16 IFF concerned PAF had it’s own system of identifying the aircrafts as friend or foe.

Those who dismiss Mansour’s testimony simply because they label him with abusive terms should try to look up the term “ad hominem fallacy” the truth of a statement or argument stands on its own merits not on the past history, religious affiliation, nationality or character of the author. People who use abusive arguments simply expose their own ignorance. For the record, I dislike Mansour Ijaz’s persona and I am suspicious of his agenda. This has no bearing on the analysis of his evidence.
