Three persons, including a 45-year-old woman, committed suicide in separate localities of the provincial metropolis on Thursday. A 28-year-old man opened fire on his temple over unknown issue in the Manawan police limits. The deceased person was identified as Waris, the son of Tufail, resident of Chandni Chowk. He had returned from the dera of his friend on Tuesday morning after which he locked himself in a room and committed suicide. After hearing the shots, his family members rushed to the room and found him in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Local police also reached the scene and removed the body to morgue for autopsy.
Separately, a 26-year-old man identified as Imtiaz Ali, the son of Akbar Ali, resident of China Scheme Gujjarpura, committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died. Local police after being informed reached the hospital and removed the body to morgue while suspecting the incident to be mysterious. The victim’s family claimed that Imtiaz had committed suicide.
In another incident, a 45-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping into the canal in the Mustafaabad police limits. She was rushed to a local hospital where she died. The body of the victim woman, yet to be identified, was shifted to morgue for autopsy. Rescue official said that the woman had jumped into the canal near Dharampura bridge in the Mustafaabad police limits. The motives were not clear in all the three incidents.
