The English Speaking-Speaking Union of Pakistan (ESUP) held the national public speaking competition in which the six national finalists participated – two each from Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore.
At the event, ESUP President Barrister Shahida Jamil, Senior Vice President Abdul Kader Jaffer, Vice President Byram D Avari, Secretary General Talat Rahim were also present.
The eminent panel of judges comprised Mrs Pamela Tarshish, wife of the Deputy Head of Mission of the British Deputy High Commission at Karachi, Dr Shamsh Kassim Lakha, former rector of the Aga Khan University, Shamrock Communications President and CEO Menin Rodriguez and Honorary Consul General of Denmark Naheed Irshaduddin.
The competition was won by Tooba Ahmed Shaikh from Lahore while Ahmed Nawaz from Islamabad was declared the runner-up.
