Two BNP-M workers among five killed in Balochistan

Five persons, including a religious leader, were killed and four others wounded in separate acts of violence on Wednesday while a bullet-riddled body was found in Mastung.
Police said Maulvi Ali Muhammad Mengal was commuting in Master’s colony in the Sariab area of Quetta when armed men riding a motorbike opened fire on him. As a result, he received critical wounds and died instantly. The attackers managed to flee.
In another incident, two Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) workers of were gunned down in Khuzdar. Unidentified armed men fired on Sulman and Waheed Ahmad at Double Road of Khuzdar. Both sustained multiple wounds and succumbed to their injuries. The bodies were moved to nearby state-run hospital for autopsy. A large number of BNP-Mengal workers rushed to the hospital after being informed of the incident.
In Qila Abdullah, unknown armed persons shot dead Humayun in Mazai Adda and succeeded to escape from the scene. In another incident, a person was killed and two wounded in a firing incident between two groups in Barkhan over a piece of land.
In Mastung, two individuals, Patwari Javed and Tayab Khan were wounded in Mastung town when armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on them and fled the scene. The injured were first moved to local hospital in Mastung and later shifted them to Quetta for further treatment.
Bullet-riddled body: In the meanwhile, Levies Force personnel found a bullet riddled body from Dasht area of Mastung and moved it to hospital.
The victim was hit by a bullet in head. However, the identity of victim could not be ascertained immediately.
Nawab Khair Baksh Marri’s 84th birthday marked: A number of functions were held in different towns in Balochistan, including provincial capital Quetta on Wednesday to mark 84th birth anniversary of elderly separatist leader, Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri. According to a press released issued by Baloch separatist group Baloch National Voice, the ceremony was organised by Baloch National Voice to pay tribute to Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri for his cross decade struggle for an independent motherland for the Baloch nation.
