Dr Israr Shah, a senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and suspended member of the party’s central executive committee, has announced his decision to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after quitting the PPP for which he had rendered sacrifices. Shah said he would hold a joint press conference with Imran Khan at the PTI office on Thursday (today). Shah lost his legs in a bomb blast that ripped through the capital’s F-8 Markaz, where preparations were underway to welcome the then-deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, who was coming to address the outgoing bar council in 2007. The disgruntled PPP leader told Online that he fully supported the slogan of change raised by the PTI. “I’m fed up with the leadership style of the PPP,” he said. Shah, whose membership of the PPP’s top policy making forum was suspended two years ago, said that he had been honoured with the “medal of suspension” for raising voice against corruption within the party. Shah added that PPP leaders Fauzia Wahab and Jahangir Badar had falsely created the impression in separate TV channel appearances that he had been “blessed by the PPP and President Asif Ali Zardari”.

  1. PPP is down the drain now. There are many who will term it lota-cracy but these folks are die hard workers. They have given their life/limbs for their parties. Time for change……

  2. Disgruntled politicians joins PTI. Next thing when PTI disappoints them, they will form their faction of the PTI.
