Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif on Thursday claimed that his party would form the next government in Sindh. Addressing a public rally in Qazi Ahmed town, Nawaz said the PML-N was the first to help the people of Sindh during the floods. “Punjab rose to the occasion and gave more relief goods than anyone else when the worst floods hit Sindh,” he said. Nawaz said his party would not attend the All-Parties Conference (APC) on Balochistan proposed by the government until the killers of Akbar Bugti were arrested and steps for the recovery of missing persons were taken.
He said the rulers had totally failed in fulfilling their obligations and as a result people were suffering. He said if the government had served the country, there would not have been slogans of “Go Zardari Go”.
He said the violence committed by the PPP candidate Waheeda Shah against female election officials had created a bad image of the country in the eyes of the international community. He said the PML-N on the other hand took action against its sitting MNAs and MPAs who indulged in wrongdoings and would not have allowed such a member, who slapped election officials, to take oath. Nawaz said despite announcement by the minister for water and power, more than 12 hours of load shedding was being observed.
Referring to laptop distribution in the province, he said a revolution was taking place in Punjab in the education sector and vowed to strengthen educational structure in the province.
“Punjab is proud of helping other provinces without differentiating Balochis, Sindhis, Pakhtuns and Punjabis,” he added
He said during his tenure the government eradicated the culture of terror in Sindh and would do so again on coming into power next time.
Earlier, large number of workers received the PML-N chief at Nawabshah airport.
