No life without dowry

A 25-years-old female allegedly hanged herself to death over matrimonial issues in the Manawan Police Area on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Razia Mushtaq, a resident of Rehmat Town, located in Manawan Area. Mushtaq, father of Razia, told reporters that they had fixed second marriage of Razia with one Qasim, a resident of the same area. He claimed that on Tuesday night Razia asked her mother Shehnaz Bibi to give her furniture for her husband’s house in dowry but Shehnaz refused her due to lack of financial resources. Both mother and daughter exchanged hot words over the said issue but Shehnaz refused to accept Razia’s demand that disheartened her. He said that that next morning, they found Razia hanging with a ceiling fan. The deceased had left behind a 3-years-old daughter behind.
CONSTABLE DROWNS: A dismissed constable of Punjab Police drowned in River Ravi while swimming on Wednesday. The deceased identified as Muhammad Shahbaz, a resident of Walton Road. Police said Shahbaz was dismissed during his last assignment as a constable in Judicial Wing of Punjab Police back in 2006. On the day of incident, he went to River Ravi along with his friends for hunting wild geese where he went inside River Ravi and started swimming.
While swimming, he suddenly lost control and went into deep waters where he drowned.
SWINDLING: Swindlers looted a 45-years-old woman after intoxicating her to death in the Ghazia Abad Police Area on Wednesday.
Per details an unidentified woman was found lying along the roadside in Ghazia Abad Area. Locals informed police officials, who after reaching the scene shifted her to a hospital where doctors stated her as dead. Police removed the body of the deceased to morgue and started searching for her relatives. Locals of the area claimed that the woman was robbed by swindlers, who intoxicated her to death because the deceased was foaming.
KINDAPPING: Four women were kidnapped and abducted from four different areas of the city on Wednesday. A female namely Saima was kidnapped by three unidentified men from Lajpat Road, Shahdara. A girl namely Anum was kidnapped by her neighbour Khalid and Qayyum from Harbanspura Area. Another young girl namely Ulfat was kidnapped by one Sifarish Ali and Majeedan Bibi from Nishter Colony Area while from Sanda Area, a girl namely Farzana Bibi was kidnapped by one Ghulam Nabi. Police registered cases and started investigating the matters.
