The incomplete home address of President Asif Ali Zardari in the “accurate” electoral list compiled by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) speaks volumes about the standards adopted for transparency and correctness. The president’s eligibility to cast vote in his constituency would be questionable according to the ECP’s new electoral list. A reliable source told Online that Zardari’s name was checked in the voters’ list by using his national identity card (NIC) number, and it was found that the ECP had entered his incomplete home address. The address that appears in the record is: Housing Society, Zardari House, Nawab Shah, Shaheed Benazirabad; while the president’s Block Code is 347030401 with Serial No 3. Online verified the report by using the president’s NIC through the helpline of National Database Registration Authority (NADRA). The ECP spokesperson refused to give the election commission’s version when contacted. On the other hand, millions of voters, including youth, senior citizens and women, would cast their vote in other constituencies instead of their own cities due to the ECP’s negligence, as the commission registered wrong addresses and even changed their block numbers in the voters’ lists displayed across the country. The ECP used NADRA’s record to prepare the new voters’ lists, which even include the record of dead voters as the ECP wanted to get rid of the old method of verification.
I have sent my ID number to 8300 they have sent me my Eloctrol Area and some Block code and Serial number. I wonder what's this Block Code and Serial number is for?
