A meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa which considered the mechanism for giving proprietary rights in Katchi Abadies. The meeting decided that the allotment would be made to the occupants of more than 10 marla in cities and one kanal in rural areas on the evaluated price.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Provincial Agriculture Minister Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Members Provincial Assembly Muhammad Ayaz, Rao Kashif Rahim Khan, Rana Tanvir Ahmad Nazir, Syed Muhammad Rafiuddin Bukhari, Ch. Javed Ahmad, Mian Muhammad Kazim Ali, Addl. Chief Secretary and Addl Home Secretary. The meeting was informed that for the purpose of provision of basic amenities in Katchi Abadies established since 1985, a sum of Rs750 per marla would be charged for the allotment while widows, orphans and handicapped people will be exempted. The meeting also decided that the occupants of costly lands in the cities would not be included in this scheme.
