The Islamic concept of forgiveness is embodied in the verse 134 of Surah Al-Imran which describes virtues of a righteous person. “Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men, for Allah loves those, who do good.”
The above verse has a clear resonance in relation with the stand of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in as much as he is averse to pardon PML(Q) leaders for joining Musharraf in his absence for their survival. Main sahib ought to look at his own faults at first sacking Jahangir Karamat, then selecting Musharraf over his senior Ali Quli Khan, and then compounding his mistakes by dismissing Musharraf thus bringing calamity on himself. Will he ponder over the above verse to qualify for a righteous person by pardoning PML(Q)?
