APCA to observe pen-down strike

Pen down strike to be observed by All Pakistan Clerk Association (APCA) on 7 March against turning down of their seven points charter of demands by the government. APCA has decided to speed up their protest movement against non-enhancement in their salaries, according to prevailing hike in prices. In the first leg of their protest, they would carry out pen down strike on March 7 in all district headquarters, throughout the country including AJK and Gilgit Baltistan.
The decision was made during a meeting, which was held at Central Secretariat Rawalpindi. President APCA Dost Muhammad Barohi, Central Additional General Secretary Mehboob Ali Bhatti, Press Secretary Chaudhary Zafar Ali Billu, APCA Rawalpindi Chairman Iftikhar Ahmad Guddu along with others were present on the occasion.
If their demands are not realized, they would again hold pen down strike and rallies on March 21, March 28, April 4 and April 18. 2.2 million clerks serving in government departments will participate in this nation-wide strike. “We are protesting for the last two years but the government is not paying any heed towards our problems rather they are disappointing us with false promises which is leading us towards protest”. APCA leaders added.
