The mounting trend of Persian language learning in Pakistan is encouraging and the ability to speak Persian language will boost bilateral relations between the two brotherly Islamic countries, Pakistan and Iran. This was stated by Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Raza Haqiqian here Wednesday at the National University of Modern Language while addressing the concluding session of ‘The First Iran Knowing Workshop’. The workshop was organised by Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies in collaboration with NUML.
In his address, the ambassador said that such platform of brining Persian teachers and learners under one roof was a great bridge between the two countries as Persian language, literature, and philosophy were a common heritage of both the countries.
“The attendance in ‘Iran Knowing Workshop’ shows that trend of Persian language learning is increasing in Pakistan and this increasing number of learners will 0ultimately help the bilateral relations between both the brotherly countries,” he said.
He also thanked the NUML administration for making arrangements and encouraging Persian language learners.
Dr Kherman Sulemani, chairman, Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies, addressing the closing ceremony, said that the 15-day workshop provided a great opportunity to Persian teachers and learners to know more about Iran, its society, its rich cultural heritage and identity.
This workshop helped new generation to learn from their senior generation. The time is not far when Pakistani Persian teachers would be known the world over for their love of knowledge.
This workshop would teach the participants about getting an easy access to any Iran-related information, he added.
The workshop aimed at introducing Iranian norms and traditions, culture, literature, and different informative Persian websites among the audience.
