Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Tuesday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its allies could bring a surprise on March 2 Senate polls.
Speaking to journalists in Lahore, he said Hina Rabbani Khar kept changing her statement on every third day in line with her government’s policy. Every minute of this government was a burden on the nation, he added.
The PML-N, he said, would mount pressure on the government to hold elections in September and would try to make the Parliament an effective platform.
He said if taking to the streets would have solved public’s problem, it had been done a long ago. He said further his party would not allow the government to use the Parliament’s shoulder for wrong objectives.
He said President Zardari would not be allowed to address the Parliament if the government did not withdraw proposed tax on mobile phone cards.
To a question, he said a grand jirga (assembly) comprising all tribal elders and nobles could be the solution to the Balochistan issue.
