The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Monday prepared the draft of new rules and regulations relating to the broadcast media. The draft proposed curbs on airing content against national interests. The regulations also proposed ban on programmes, which spread religious discord and sectarianism. The new regulations were evaluated at the council of compliment’s meeting chaired by the PEMRA chairman. The meeting unanimously approved the draft of the new code of conduct.
