Two people, Zulifqar, 45 and Usman, were knocked down and killed by over-speeding vehicles in two different areas of the city on Monday. Zulfiqar was crushed to death by a rashly-driven truck, while he was going to visit the Jameel Shah shrine with his cousin Ahemd, who sustained minor injuries. The accident took place within Shahdara Police precincts. Both the cousins were taken to a nearby hospital, where Zulfiqar succumbed to death, while Ahmed was declared safe. Similarly, a man namely Muhammad, a resident of Cheeto Village located in Kahna Area collided with a pole of electricity while he was going to market on his bike. He was taken to General Hospital where he eventually died. Police handed over the two bodies to their heirs after completing legal formalities.
KOTLAKHPAT KONNECTION: A murder accused, Muhammad Qasim, resident of Gujranwala, detained in Kotlakhpat Jail died under mysterious circumstances on Monday. On Monday, he went unconscious under mysterious circumstances at the said jail and was taken to the General Hospital where he died. Police said that the deceased was ill and died owing to prolonged illness.
Meanwhile, a 40-year old man, Wazir Ahmed, was found in a state of unconsciousness along the road side Kotlakhpat Police precincts Some locals informed rescue officials, who after reaching the scene rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him as dead. The police said that the he had died of heart attack.
TRIANGLE OF FIRE: Valuables worth thousands of rupees were gutted when a fire erupted at three different places including a foam factory on Monday. Fire emerged in a local foam manufacturing factory located in Mohlanwal Area on Main Multan Road when a labourer mistakenly threw a burning cigarette inside the factory. Similarly a fire erupted in the ATM Machine of a local bank installed at Fortress Stadium owing to short circuit. Likewise short circuit also caused fire in a house of Mufti Kazim in Gulshane Ravi Area.
Locals informed rescue officials who after reaching the said three placed extinguished fire. However fire gutted valuables worth thousands of rupees including foam, furniture and other valuables.
