The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued directions to the provincial assemblies for Senate elections to be
held on March 2.
According to the rules issued by ECP for Senate elections, the members are required to show their assembly identity card while casting their votes.
Ballot paper of white colour will be issued for general seats, while light green colour ballot paper will be issued for technocrats seats.
Names of candidates will be written on ballot papers in alphabetical order and marking on ballot papers will be allowed only with ballpoint.
Members of the provincial assemblies will either mark candidate of their choice in Urdu or in English language. Marking in both languages will result into cancellation of the vote.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has directed its parliamentarians in foreign countries to reach Pakistan immediately in this regard.
