4 Chamalang coal miners suffocate to death

Four labourers, including three Afghan nationals, died of suffocation in Chamalang coalfield, some 400 km southeast of Quetta on Monday. Levies officials said that four coalminers were busy in coal excavation inside seam in Chamalang coalfield when the mine was filled with poisonous methane gas. As a result, the workers fell unconscious and suffocated to death. Rescue workers, most of them coalminers working in a nearby coalmine, reached the site after being informed about the incident and retrieved the bodies from the mine. The deceased were identified as Wali Jan, Musa Khan and Naseebullah, all Afghan nationals and Zahir Khan, resident of Harnai. The bodies were shifted to nearby hospital and later sent to their ancestral towns.
Hindu trader kidnapped: Two people, including a woman were killed in Bolan district while a son of well-known Hindu trader was kidnapped from Jhal Magsi on Monday. Police said Mohammad Karim, resident of Mehr Ghar in Bolan distrist, some 70 km south-east of Quetta killed his daughter and her alleged lover Hanif after suspecting them of having illicit relations. The accused escaped from the scene. Police said that it was case of honour killing and investigations were underway. In another incident, Ashok Kumar, son of well known Hindu trader Newnand Ram, was kidnapped in Gandawa area of Jhal Magsi. According to reports, Ashok Kumar was kidnapped at gun-point by armed men, who drove him to an undisclosed location after bundling him into a car.
