22 women’s colleges participate in Naat and Qiraat competition

Islamic Society on Tuesday organised Qiraat and Naat competitions here at Government Postgraduate College for Women, Rawalpindi, in which around 22 teams participated. Religious scholar Dr Zaitoon Begum of the Islamic International University Islamabad (IIUI) was the chief guest while jury members for Qiraat competition were Amina Durrani and Uroosa Ikram from Iqra Haffaz Secondry School, Rawalpind, Nasreen Rajpoot, a retired professor of Islamiat from Government Postgraduate College for Women, Satellite Town. Abida Moeen, associate professor of Mathematics, Maimoona Mushtaq from Bahria College and Urooba Talat, a Naat writer were judges for Naat competition.
In Qiraat competition, Ammara Aziz-un-Nisa of Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7 and Qurratul Ain of Government College for Women, Mohanpura, got the first and second prize, respectively, while the third prize was shared by Ayesha Siddiqa from Khadija Umar Collge and Hafiza Ishrat Fatima from Government College for Women while consolation prize was won by Nadeema Iqbal of a Chaklala college.
In Naat competition, Ayesha Talib of Islamabad Model College for Girls, G-10/2, won the first prize, the second pize was shared by Bakhtawar Rubab from Govternmen College for Women, Dhoke Elahi Bakhsh and Samia Batool from Khadija Umar Collge, Rawalpindi. The third prize went to Mehwish Ishtiaq from FG College, Abid Majeed Road, and Sahar Saba from Waqar-un-Nisa College won consolation prize.
