On the call of Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) the lawyers belonging to the Lahore High court Bar Association (LHCBA) and Lahore Bar Association (LBA) took out a condemnation rally against burning of Holy Quran by NATO forces in Afghanistan.Reproving the act of the American forces as a very sacrilege step towards Islam and Holy Book of Muslims, the lawyers observed strike, wore black armbands and did not appear before the court except urgent cases. The lawyers hoisted black flags at bar offices at PbBC, LHCBA and the LBA.
LBA general house meeting was held at Awain-e-Adl to decry the USA army and a large number of young lawyers participated in it. They chanted slogans against NATO and US army. Later the LBA lawyers took out a rally from bar office at Awain-e-Adl from PMG Chowk on the Lower Mall and staged a sit in. The bars in their statements asked the government to cut diplomatic ties with the USA and to take up the issue with the world community.
