Pakistan Medical Association has appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister to restart the anti quackery campaign before the case of Dengue Fever again recommences. PMA Punjab office bearers Prof Dr Ashraf Nizami, Dr Akhter Rasheed Malik, Dr Muhammad Tanveer Anwar, Dr Izhar Ahmed, Dr Shahid Malik, Dr Ihsan ur Rehman, Dr Yasmeen Ihsan, Dr Sabahat Habib and Dr. Salman Kazmi have further added that last year during the dengue fever epidemic more than 250 patients died who had been mismanaged by the quacks and on this the Punjab CM had constituted a three-member committee headed by the Food Secretary to eradicate the quacks from the city. However, complete eradication was not done and now all those fake doctors have reopened their clinics and are once again playing with the lives of the public. PMA has appealed to the Chief Minister that since dengue help-lines and dengue centers across all towns of the city are being established, similarly the complaints against quacks was needed to be registered on the same help lines and a full fledged anti quackery campaign was needed to be started to save the lives of the public in case of any outbreak of dengue fever.
