Boy drowns in open drain

A two-year-old boy drowned in an open drain in the Chung Police precincts on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ali Hassan, son of Ejaz Hussain of Chung area. Police said that Ali went missing on February 25 while playing in the street and despite hectic efforts by his family, he could not be traced. On Sunday, passers-by spotted the body in the drain and informed police, which contacted Ali’s parents, who took his body. Ali was the youngest of his four siblings.
MURDER: Unidentified men shot dead a 25-year-old man and threw his body in the fields in Sundara area. Local residents spotted the body and informed police, which shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy. Police said that the unidentified deceased was severely tortured before being gunned down, adding that the victim looked like a labourer.
ACCIDNET: A 14-year-old boy was killed by a speeding truck in Kahna area. The deceased was identified as Usama of Raiwind area. Police said that the boy was riding a motorcycle when a rashly-driven truck ran over him killing him on the spot. 25-year-old Muhammad Yaseen was also killed by an unknown vehicle in Islampura area.
KIDNAPPING: A 17-year-old youth was kidnapped by unidentified men in the Wahdat Colony area. Police said that the boy was identified as Salimullah, who studied in a seminary and was from Balochistan.
FIRE: Household items worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in a house due to short circuit in Wahdat Colony. Fire also broke out in a cloth warehouse in Defence area due to short circuit. Fire fighters rushed to the spot and controlled the fire.
DIED: A man died in hospital shortly after he was found lying unconscious in a garden in Lohari Gate area. Police suspected that swindlers give him intoxicated food, which killed him.
