Man involved in 200 cases killed

A proclaimed offender wanted in over 200 cases was killed in police encounter in Daska on Sundy.
Police was taking accused Yasir Cheema to Sialkot jail on judicial remand when four of his accomplices attacked and got him freed under the cover of gunfire and escaped on a motorcycle.
Police chased the culprits and besieged them on Lodhay road and engaged them in a crossfire. Resultantly, Cheema died on the spot, while his accomplices managed to flee the scene. Eight days back, Sialkot police arrested offender wanted in over 200 cases in a raid. District Police Office (DPO) Syed Ali Mohsin said that Yasir Cheema alias Yasira, a resident of Daska, carried Rs 1 million head money and went by titles like “the don of Sialkot” and “SHO of Punjab”.
Cheema was arrested in a raid, DPO said, adding that the accused was headed towards a trader’s home receive a ‘protection’ payment when the police team intercepted him.
The DPO said the man was wanted in over 200 cases of murder, extortion and kidnapping for ransom.
