Inspector General (IG) Punjab Police Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman, while taking serious notice of dual murder during a robbery attempt in the city, sought the report on the incident on Sunday.
It should be mentioned that 60-year-old Muhammad Arshad, an ex-public servant, and his four year old granddaughter Khadija were stabbed to death and their house maid Shumaila received wounds during a robbery in their house located in Garden Town.
Upon media reports, IG Punjab took notice of the dual murder and directed the authorities to submit a report within the next few days.
On the other hand, DIG Operations was of the view that the dual murder was the outcome of resistance and not a murder plot. However, he said that further progress in the case will be possible when the injured maid would be able to give statement.
