Members of Jammu and Kashmir Co-operative Housing Society, Islamabad, in its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) on Sunday unanimously gave approval of a number of decisions and projects to make all the on-going and new schemes of society fully functional by provision of required facilities.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman JKCHS and Senior Minister AJK Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin which was attended by Vice Chairman Fayaz Akhtar, Senior Vice Chairman Abdul Latif Qureshi, Executive Secretary Muhammad Zahir, Finance Secretary Naseem Anjum, Shujha Kiyani, Executive Members, Raja Maqsood Hussain, Syed Israr Hussain Shah, Qaiser Riaz Cheema, Abdul Majeed Chohan, Raja Sajid Hameed, Rana Tanveer and Assistant Circle Register Inspector Malik Mazhar Hussain representatives of various departments and organizations also attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin said that it was an endeavor of the government to resolve the residential problems of citizens and under the auspices of JKCH, work on five housing schemes is in progress to provide shelter to the members of JKCHS at a very nominal price. He said that after provision of civic amenities in G-15and F-15 sectors of society, possession of 1700 plots had so far been given to the members out of which construction of 800 houses had been completed and 700 members shifted their residences in these sectors. He said pace of development works in other housing schemes of JKCH has been accelerated to enable the members to construct their homes as soon as possible. On pressing demands of the members Chairman JKCH Society announced to start development works of “Zone-5” scheme from next month and also announced for initiating restoration and construction works of scheme of Kashmir Model Town after approval of estimated expenditures.
Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin said that we are committed to fulfill all over obligations and according to the aspirations of members positive steps had been adopted to ensure quality works in all the schemes.
Secretary JKCHS Mr. Fayaz Awan condemned the negative tactics of nefarious designs who had been indulged in the negative activities which cause damaging the interest of members. Finance Secretary Naseem Anjum presented Audit Report. The participants of the meeting unanimously gave approval of all the agenda items of the meeting.
‘Controversial’ officer appointed as railways board secy: The federal government has posted a controversial official, former Development GM, Syed Shahid Hussain as new secretary railways’ board, sources said on Sunday.
There were 75 cases relating to engine repairs, purchase of new engines and scrap deals, already in review of the Supreme Court against newly appointed (Railways) secretary, Syed Shahid Hussain despite strong opposition of chairman Railways Arif Azeem.
It is pertinent to note that Supreme Court had, indicted Syed Shahid Hussain then serving as GM Development Railways, after taking Suo motto notice of Railway crisis.
Reliable sources have informed that Railways minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour had also appointed Shafiq ullah Khan as new GM-Development.
Sources have also disclosed that federal Railways minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour was yearning long to promote Syed Shahid Hussain as secretary Railways’ Board.
However a very interesting situation arose when the summary forwarded to chairman Arif Azeem was duly rejected; after which federal Railways minister bypassed any further consensus with Arif Azeem and got the appointment summary approved directly by PM, Gilani.
