The Concerned Citizens of Pakistan (CCP) organised an interactive seminar “Vote for Pakistan”, focusing on voter education and voter awareness on Thursday 23rd February, at the LGS Auditorium, Ghalib Market, Gulberg Lahore. The panelists included Punjab Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Shiekh Jaleel Ahmed, NADRA representatative Lt Col (R) Nawaz Ahmed, Former Punjab Governor Shahid Hamid, and Pakistan Debating Society President, Taimur Banday, and CCP President Justice (R) Nasira Iqbal.
The audience which included citizens from all walks of life and a large number of students from various colleges, were given an opportunity to exchange information and ideas with regards to the electoral processes in Pakistan. The objective of the seminar was to provide practical information regarding voting and also to motivate citizens to be proactively involved in the country’s elections, in an attempt to facilitate genuine democracy in Pakistan. CCP intends to conduct similar seminars in the future to mobilise citizens to perform their duties with regards to voting.
