Supporting the cause of missing persons, the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saturday announced to stage a walk out of the coming session of the National Assembly as protest.
“Mutahidda Qaumi Movement will not discuss any other issue in the parliament unless the issue of missing persons is raised in the house,” the MQM member Waseem Akhter said.
He was expressing solidarity with the relatives of missing persons at a camp set up near the parliament house.
Relatives of dozens of the missing persons have been proesting for 11 days.
He said that the workers of MQM were picked up by the local police of Karachi during 1992 to 1997. He said police initially allowed their relatives to meet them but after several years, there has been no information about their fate.
“I myself visited entire jails of the country but unable to discover our workers,” he added. He appealed to the Chief Justice, the Prime Minister and the President for immediate return of workers.

    • Missing persons are a very important issue for those who have been affected by it. It ok to not agree with any political party for their ideology but one should not be dismissed especially if they are doing something which is of an essence to the community at large.
