Senior Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government & Rural Development Minister/Awami National Party parliamentary leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Bashir Ahmed Bilour called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the Chief Minister’s House on Friday.
Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and interprovincial coordination and cooperation.
They expressed satisfaction over measures being evolved under the spirit of reconciliation and coordination.
Welcoming the KP MPA, the Sindh CM said that both parties (ANP and PPP) are striving for political stability and economic prosperity.
Shah said that the present PPP government is serving the people without any distinction or favour to any party.
He said that the problems that the people have been facing are being resolved amicably and many development schemes have been launched in Pakhtun localities across Karachi.
He also said that a road has been constructed in Banaras Colony by joining the Valika Hospital and the surrounding area for the facility of the locals.
Bilour thanked Shah for granting approval of land for the proposed Bacha Khan University in the Karachi Education City.
He requested the CM to allot a land for the construction of KP House in Karachi, and said that the KP government would provide a land for Sindh House in Peshawar.
CM’s Special Assistant Waqar Mehdi and local ANP leader Bashir Jan were also present in the meeting.
SPECIAL EDUCATION: The CM also approved a summary sent by CM’s Special Education Adviser Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh to establish and release funds for regional directorates of special education in the province.
Moreover, he ordered releasing four months’ budget for the Special Education Department.
After the approval of the summary, a central secretariat would be established in Karachi, where one secretary, one additional secretary, two deputy secretaries and six vacant positions of section officers would be filled.
For the first time, according to the summary, three separate directorates of special education would be established in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur, and a regional director, deputy director and assistant director would work in each of the regional directorates.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Special Education Department was previously part of the Education & Literacy Department, but it has now been established as a separate department by the Sindh government.
CM’s special education adviser has directed the special education secretary to make the department effective as soon as possible and release funds for it and other agencies of special education so that the welfare programmes for special people could be swiftly and effectively implemented.
