During a media briefing at the Lahore press club, all Punjab medical students said it was “unjust” that around 1,400 students had been declared as failed by the UHS. They said the results had not been revised by The University of Health Sciences (UHS) had not either suspended the result for the time being. The university had only set up independent committees of subject specialists to review the question papers of all the subjects of second professional MBBS examination, they asserted.
In a press release issued on Friday, UHS spokesman clarified once again that on the recommendation of the principals of the medical colleges affiliated with the university, these committees had been set up and they would submit their reports within four to five days. The supplementary examination would commence after 40 days of the submission of the reports, the press release added. Meanwhile the students have started a campaign against the UHS VC on the internet and have also been condemning the media, saying that the injustice dished out to them was being condoned by the media.
