On the opening of Inter-district Sports Festival 2012 a number of sports events were conducted at various venues of the province.
In athletics final, University male competitions were held while Waseem Qadir inaugurated the general public kabaddi. Kasur beat Nankana 35-27.
In 100 m, Mohammed Imran from University of Central Punjab bagged first prize with a time of 11:21, Aon Ali won 200 m in 23:87, M.Waseem from GC University was first in 400 m with 53:56 time and 800 m in 2:18:00. M.Asif from Superior University got frist place in 1500 m race with 4:15:94 timing. In javelin throw, Alam from GCU was first. In shotput, Zaeem Iqbal was first whereas M.Ikram from University of Central Punjab won the long jump. In general public athletics, Husnain Ali (Lahore) won first in 100 m. In 200 m, M.Faisal (Lahore) secured first, in 400 m, Muzaffar Iqbal (Lahore) achieved first position, in 800 m, Sadaf Javed (Lahore), in 1500 m, Mohsin Raza (Sheikhupura), in long jump Waheed Ashraf (Lahore), in shotput, M.Mushtaq (Kasur) and in javelin throw Nadeem Akhtar (Lahore) attained first position. In karate colleges boys, 48 Kg category, Mubashir of Shalimar College was first. In 55Kg: Hafeez of Superior College, in 55-plus Kg, Waqar Wakeel of Superior was winner. In school karate, 48 Kg: Saweel Khan Honors Public School was first. 55 Kg: Ali Mehmood of Model School and in 55-plus Kg: Noman Gondal of Government School won the title. In general public karate, 48 Kg: Rehan Ali (Lahore) achieved first position, 55Kg: Aqib Muneer (Lahore) and 55-plus Kg: Mirza Rehan (Lahore) was winner.
In girls college hockey Final, Kinnaird College thrashed Government College Sheikhupura 7-0. In badminton general public, Sheikhupura beat Kasur 2-0, Lahore defeated Nankana Sahib 2-1 and in the final, Lahore thrashed Sheikhupura 2-0. In school boys badminton, Sisa School outplayed Government Model School Warburton Nankana 2-0. In general public Football, Lahore outplayed Kasur 5-3. In volleyball general public, Kasur defeated Nankana 2-1 (20-25, 25-19, 15-12). In semifinal, Sheikhupura beat Lahore 2-0 (25-20, 25-18) and in the final Sheikhupura beat Kasur 2-0. In weightlifting, 62 Kg: M.Saleem (Lahore).77 Kg: Shan Akram (Lahore) and in 105-plus Kg: Husnain Raza (Lahore).
