The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) organised an exhibition on Thursday, of Islamic calligraphy works done by the students of the council. The exhibition, held in connection with the sacred month of Rabi-ul-Awal, was inaugurated by National Assembly Member Tahira Aurangzeb. More than one hundred art pieces of 22 students were put on display. Aurangzeb applauded the art work and said the young generation’s love for Islam and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was evident in the paintings. She stated that it was obligation for very Muslim to celebrate the birth anniversary of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) with enthusiasm. She added that calligraphic art was a true depiction of the Islamic era and that the RAC was to be appreciated for providing a platform to the region’s new talent.
Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director Waqar Ahmed were also present at the occasion. Manzoor said the RAC was creating awareness about Islamic ideology. Ahmed thanked the participants and said such exhibitions should be encouraged as they promoted innovation in the new generation. Younis Roomi, Tahir Saleem, Bushra Anwar, Zeshan Sadaf, Saba Adeel, Sidra Kanwal, Batool Muzafar, Hassan Shah, Salma Bibi, Zainab, Sundas, Rubina, Sadia Munsif, Sara Khan, Fahmina, Zohaib Zeshan, Zeeshan Bhatti, Zuhair Khan, Maria, Amina, Sidra, Irshad and Shagufta Urooj participated in the exhibition which was attended by a large number of people from the twin cities. The exhibition will be open for one week.
