After installation of Bio-Metric System, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) cancelled around 90,000 computerised national identity cards (CNIC), which were double issued to one person. NADRA also terminated 183 employees, who were found involved in corruption. Sources told Online that special teams of NADRA, during an operation against dual CNICs, confiscated 38,000 cards through out the country while the remaining 52,000 CNICs were cancelled by red circling the record. Most of the duel cards were issued during the tenure of former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf.
