A Mehfil-e-Milad was held at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Islamabad by the Department of Urdu Language in connection with the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet (PBUH), says a press release issued here on Thursday by NUML.
The IT auditorium of the university was decorated beautifully and lamps were lit up to make it appear as per the significance of the ceremony. Besides the soulful rendition by the Naat Khawans, the reverence in eyes and bent heads made the mehfil more spiritual and a source of inspiration.
Melodious voices of Naat Khawans’ held the jam-packed IT hall spell bound and the audience kept on showering accolades, admirations, and recited the holy verses to pay humble tribute to their beloved Prophet (PBUH). Students of departments of Urdu, English, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Chinese, and management sciences recited naats respectively to enlighten the audience. Teachers and faculty members also recited darood and naats and a naat by Abubakar Bhutta, Lecturer Arabic Department, was admired largely by the audience. In a passion to express one’s tribute to the Holy Prophet, a couple of people from audience also wished to recite Naats.
The ‘Mefil’ was attended by NUML Rector Maj Gen (r) Masood Hasan, Director General Brig Azam Jamal, Robeena Shaheen, Head of Urdu Department, and by a great number of students, heads of departments, deans and faculty members of different departments of the university. At the end of mehfil, every one recited darood together and prayed for the security and safety of the country. It was pledged that teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) would be followed to acquire the welfare and success in one’s life.
