The Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday declared PML-Q leader Syed Mushahid Hussain and PPP Osman Saifullah Khan as unopposed candidates.
“The Returning Officer for elections to the Senate from the Federal Capital has declared Mushahid Hussain Syed and Osman Saifullah Khan, the only nominated candidates from the Federal Capital in the Senate, to have been duly elected uncontested against a technocrat and a general seat, respectively,” said a press release issued here on Tuesday by ECP.
Earlier four people including Mushahid Hussain, Osman Saifullah, and PML-N two candidates submitted their nomination papers for contesting elections on two seats reserved for Islamabad. However later PML-N candidates withdrew their nomination papers, paving way for the said leaders.
