Lahore High Court Chief Justice Azmat Saeed on Tuesday urged lawyers to take help from modern technologies like IT labs for preparing their cases and assisting the courts in proceedings for dispensation of speedy justice to the people of province. The chief justice expressed these views after inaugurating the IT lab for the facility of lawyers at the premises of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Tuesday. “By enhanced study and quick legal references the lawyers can help the judiciary achieve the target of ending backlog of cases and reduce the miseries of the litigant public,” the CJ said. LHC IT lab in-charge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah was also with the chief justice on the occasion. LHCBA President Asghar Ali Gill, Vice President Mian Muhammad Jahangir, Secretary Arshad Malik Awan, Finance Secretary Mian Muhammad Azam and many other senior lawyers were present on the occasion. Earlier, Mr Gill cordially welcomed the Chief Justice when he arrived at the bar. As is his habit the CJ socialised with bar members and senior lawyers during and after the ceremony. The CJ asked the lawyers about the problems that faced them and assured that he would do every thing to facilitate the bar and lawyers so that they may play their active role for dispensation of justice to the masses. He said IT lab would make case preparation easy for the lawyers with the facility of quick access to references, relevant judgments and information of all sorts.
