Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad observed Bangla Language Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day on Tuesday with solemnity and fervour.
National flag of Bangladesh was hoisted at half mast in the morning over the chancery on the occasion.
Officials of all strata from the mission and Bangladeshis living in Islamabad were present.
A discussion was held to highlight significance of the Mother Language Day. The speakers underscored the need for contribution to the cause of the motherland imbued with the spirit of language movement in 1952 in Bangladesh.
The chancery premises were decorated with Bangla alphabets and numerals to pay respect to the language martyrs.
